Aquatex Product Details

Typical Uses:
Aquatex is a waterproof, self levelling compound used for the tanking of basement and cellar walls to prevent the permeation of ground water. Also for sealing tanks and ducts, and is suitable for lining storage tanks for potable water.

The cementitious water-proofing system consists of a blend of Portland cements, graded aggregates and chemical modifiers. Aquatex is mixed simply with water to produce a liquid consistency that may be applied by brush or spray.

Aquatex has excellent adhesion characteristics, even when applied to damp surfaces and is approved under the Water Bylaws Scheme.
Available in 2 standard colours: White and Grey.

The surface must be sound, clean and free of loose or friable materials.

Any oil or grease must be removed using Polycote Degrease IT, followed by thorough rinsing.
Please refer to relevant Data sheets.
No priming is necessary.
Dry surfaces may be dampened with water to assist adhesion.
Gradually add the entire contents of a 25kg unit to 7.5 – 8.5L of clean water in a suitable bucket, mixing continuously while adding the powder.
For best results – use a heavy duty slow speed drill with a mixing paddle.
Mix for at least 3 minutes after all the powder has been added until a creamy consistency is achieved.
Two coats should be applied using a brush or spray.
The first coat should be applied in a horizontal direction, and a 24 hour interval allowed before applying a second coat at right angles to the first.
Where water is penetrating under pressure, please contact Polycote technical helpline to confirm suitability and application method.
